In 2019 low-code was accepted as a priority by companies.(●'◡'●)

In 2020, word of its importance begins to spread. Reports in 2021 indicate further growth. The journey to no-code adoption is finely linked to the digitization of processes that your company needs, such as distribution, automation and adapting to the changing business environment.

The foundation of digital transformation relies on change management and the technical competence to manage its implementation.

Extending the adaptability of your software beyond your developer team, with rapid development and automation tools is the key to grow above your competition.👨🧑🏿👧👧🏽🧑👳🏽‍♀️

Choosing the right low-code application platform to help you achieve this is not trivial.

The 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Low-Code Application Platforms ranks Mendix as the leader for the third consecutive year.

Where low-code may help you

Gartner evaluates low-code providers under use cases.

Custom enterprise application. These are applications with rich user experiences, often with complex integrations that require robust monitoring and the ability to handle large transaction volumes. This includes the critical applications that run your business, or even applications that draw power from a multitude of data sources and cloud services. You probably need to upgrade them, adapt them, with a low cost-benefit ratio.

Business workflow automation. You need your core processes to be automated as soon as possible and to the most — and you need them to be adapted on an even quicker recurring basis.

You want to be sure that your low-code platform gives your company the ability to infuse business process logic into your applications to handle all types of processes from simple to complex.

Prototyping — testing before going live — is a quality that improves your team’s confidence in implementing new scenarios for your processes, while the old ones are still working.

Solutions come from the synergy of all teams with or without technical skills. The ability to merge the skills from multiple teams into a digital process is also measured by Gartner.

Tools such as AI support, a convenient and intuitive visual interface, easy integrations with external systems and the ability to control and track changes, help you enable your entire organization to confidently start building the applications you need.

Tools you are expecting

The Mendix approach embraces several integrated tools.

Collaborative application development is one of the foundations of Mendix and should be for all low-code platforms.👨🧑🏿👧👧🏽🧑👳🏽‍♀️

The experience with the Mendix platform starts with the IDE, which allows easy visual management of application components. The IDE can be configured according to predefined profiles e.g. for programmers, to add or reduce the complexity of options and elements to work with.

The people involved in the development are supported by Mendix Assist. The platform offers recommendations based on AI technology, to correct anti-patterns or implement best practices for low-code development.

Collaboration needs to be channeled. Mendix offers integrated governance tools to ensure that as software development is democratized, teams build applications that meet enterprise compliance and regulatory standards.

We found the capability for version control and conflict resolution functionalities.

Also you have the Control Center, which gives you information and control over your Mendix applications, their performance, their usage and the team members who created them.

Modern Times — cloud time !

Your applications should work no matter where your users are or on which device they are working on.

Yes! you know, anywhere, any time, any device.

Your applications surely need to be hosted on cloud-based architectures with high distribution, availability, scalability and high standards for security.

Mendix applications are cloud-native by default.

There are several types of clouds and Mendix offers freedom of choice; you can use a Mendix cloud, an SAP cloud, a virtual private cloud or your own dedicated cloud.

This delivers a complete portability to the cloud and operational simplicity so you can deploy your solutions more easily.

Mendix Data Hub, have took the low-code principles we’ve applied to development and use them to simplify the data integration process.

Finding the right data, understanding its sources and permissions, searching across multiple data sources and ensuring its integrity is much easier and more visible. The IDE allows people with different skills to access its features.

Mendix Workflow is a workflow designer that allows participants to model and execute simple and complex business processes.
